Instructor Jason Schoenherr

Mr. Schoenherr is extremely dedicated to teaching and practicing Martial Arts and has been doing both full time (12-14 hours a day) for over 14 years.

Instructor Schoenherr trains directly under Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming and is the head instructor at EMA.

Certification:

  • State of Michigan FIA Background Clearance check on September 15th, 2004
  • CPR & First Aid Certified

Martial Arts Experience:

  • (14) Years training in Kung Fu (Shaolin Long Fist, White Crane, and Yuejia Quan).
  • (14) Years training in Taijiquan (Traditional Yang Long Form Tai Chi) and Chinese Qigong
  • Present Day - Shaolin White Crane & Long Fist, Qigong, and Yang Style Taijiquan under the direction of Shaolin Grandmaster Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming.

Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming has published over 30 books and 71 videos / 25 DVD on the martial arts and Qigong. Currently he is president of Yang's Oriental Arts Association, Boston, MA and holds the offices of:

  • Vice President of the International Wushu-San Shou Dao Association
  • Co-Leader of the 1994 North American Martial Arts Demo Team
  • Honorary Member of the American Shiatsu Association
  • Honorary Advisor of the Martial Arts of China Historical Society
  • Honorable Appointee to the Eastern U.S. Kung-Fu Federation

Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming has also been given the following awards:

  • Inside Kung Fu Magazine - Man of the Year 1990
  • Black Belt Magazine - Kung Fu Artist of the Year 2003
  • Inside Kung Fu Magazine - Man of the Year 2007

Instructor Ryan Howard

Mr. Howard was the original founder of Eastern Martial Arts and has been practicing and teaching Martial Arts for over 14 years.

Certification:

  • 1st Dan Internationally certified black belt instructor from Kukkiwon (World Tae Kwon Do Federation), Seoul Korea
  • State of Michigan FIA Background Clearance check on September 15th, 2004
  • CPR & First Aid Certified

Martial Arts Experience:

  • (4) Years training in Tae Kwon Do under Grandmaster Kim a 7th Dan Kukkiwon Korean Master
  • (2) Years training in SongMooKwan and MooGongRyu styles of TaeKwonDo under Grandmaster Young Pyo Choi
  • (2) Years training in Aikido under Takashi Kushida-Sensi
  • (8) Years training in Kung Fu
  • (8) Years training in Yang style Tai Chi
  • (2) Years training in Japanese Sword
  • Present Day - Shaolin White Crane & Long Fist, Qigong, and Yang Style Taijiquan
 

Instructor Doreen Cole

Ms. Cole has been a devoted practitioner of martial arts for over ten years under the direction of Mr. Jason Schoenherr and Sifu Thomas Smith.

Her years of training experience include: Yujia Quan (Yue Family Style Kung Fu), Tai Chi (Yang Family Style), Taijiquan Yang Style and Qigong (as taught by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming), Northern Shaolin Long Fist, and Southern White Crane Style.

Certification:

  • CPR & First Aid Certified

Martial Arts Experience:

  • (10) Years training in Kung Fu (Shaolin Long Fist, White Crane, and Yuejia Quan).
  • (10) Years training in Taijiquan (Traditional Yang Long Form Tai Chi) and Chinese Qigong
  • Present Day - Shaolin White Crane & Long Fist, Qigong, and Yang Style Taijiquan
 

Instructor Dave Krause

Mr. Krause has been enjoying the study of martial arts for over six years under the direction of Mr. Schoenherr and Mr. Howard.
